Our primary goal is to provide our patients with exceptional service. We want our patients to get well, feel well and be emotionally comforted. We have a sense of humor. We care about you. We limit wait times, usually get you in within a few days (sometimes the same day), spend as much time as necessary, answer questions and educate you.
As a surgical practice, we know many new patients come to us anxious about their problem and nervous about what might happen:
- Do I have cancer?
- Will I need surgery?
- Will I be in pain or become disabled or worse?
We talk with you about your problem for as long as you need to explain your complete history right up to the present. You may have any family member or friend with you during this discussion. We ask you to unclothe only those body parts we will examine, those most likely to affect our discussion and decisions. We provide a female chaperone during all breast or pelvic examinations. If you have already had laboratory studies, X-rays or other radiologic studies, we will review those available to us.
We will then discuss what options are available to you. We may request that you have additional laboratory or radiologic studies, refer you to another specialist, or return you to your primary physician. We may suggest that you have surgery, recommend that you return to our office to be checked again, or reassure you that everything is fine.
During all of this, our intention is to make you as comfortable as possible, respect your privacy, and explain test results and issues clearly so that you can make an informed decision. We do not decide for you. We act as your trusted advisor to help you make the best choices for yourself.
We look forward to seeing you.
